CHRISTOVAL, TX—The Christoval Lady Cougars continue to make their community proud. For the second year in a row, Paige Polk qualified for the Texas High School State Powerlifting meet in Frisco, TX.
Paige qualified for the State meet a year ago after claiming the stand-alone regional championship in her weight class. Now, in 2024, Polk once again is the regional champion, and in the process, she broke the deadlift state record in her region and weight class with a deadlift of 375 lbs.
Polk’s teammate, Marriah Fullington, also won the region in her weight class in the first-ever “Unequipped Division.” This division stands apart from the other weight classes, with no knee wraps, squat suits, or bench shirts allowed. Both ladies will compete in the THSWPA State Meet in Frisco on March 13.
