SAN ANGELO, TX—The Angelo State Rams Baseball team returned with a Lone Star Conference Series victory over the University of Arkansas Fort Smith over the weekend. The Rams dropped the opening game before winning the next three games straight on their way to an overall 3-1 series win. For his performance during the four-game series, the Rams’ Pitcher Dax Dathe was named the Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week.
Dathe pitched in ASU’s 5-2 Game 3 win over UA Fort Smith last Saturday. The junior entered the game in the second inning and allowed zero runs on two hits, with eight strikeouts. Dathe leads the LSC in strikeouts this season. Opposing batters hit just .100 over the six innings pitched against the Rams’ right-hander.
Angelo State dropped Game 1 last Friday 2-5 before recovering to sweep the remaining three games, 4-3,5-2, and 10-4. The Rams trailed several of these contests before roaring back in the later innings to claim victory.

Angelo State returns to action on Friday, March 8, when the Rams host Oklahoma Christian at Foster Field for a 4-game Lone Star Conference series. First pitch for Game 1 on Friday is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
