SAN ANGELO, TX — Lake View High School hosted the 2nd annual Nat Sawyer Relays last Friday, February 27, and several high schools around the Concho Valley gathered to test their speed and agility against each other to honor legendary Lake View Track Coach Nat Sawyer.
Athletes from Ballinger, Big Spring, Grape Creek, Snyder, Sweetwater, Wall, and Lake View competed in several races and field events to see who could be some of the best in the Concho Valley. Anyone interested in the full results can find that information HERE.

Some of the highlights included Wall’s dominance in the Men’s and Women’s Relays. The Hawks and Lady Hawks won the 4x100 and 4x400 meters, while they also snagged 2nd place in the 4x200 meter. The Lake View Maidens made the host school proud with a win in the 4x200-meter relay. Maidens’ Analycia Vasquez won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.74 seconds, and Jozlin Emfinger claimed victory in the High Jump with a 4’8” leap. The Chiefs’ Braylon White won the Men’s High Jump when he cleared 5’8”.
Overall, it was a successful weekend for Nat Sawyer and Lake View High School. All schools that compete will continue to participate in several more meets this season as the athletes prepare for the district competition and beyond.
