Fire Weather Watch Issued for the Concho Valley

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a Fire Weather Watch for critical fire weather conditions, effective from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening. 

The affected areas include Fisher, Nolan, Sterling, Coke, Haskell, Throckmorton, Jones, and Taylor counties.

Key Details:

  • Winds: West to southwest at 20 to 30 MPH
  • Relative Humidity: 15 to 20 percent
  • Fuels: Critically dry
  • Impacts: Rapid spread of fires anticipated; outdoor activities producing flames or sparks discouraged

The Fire Weather Watch, issued on February 26 at 1:26 p.m., is slated to remain in effect until February 27 at 7 p.m. 

Residents are advised to exercise caution and stay informed, as any fires that develop under these conditions are expected to spread rapidly.

A Fire Weather Watch indicates the potential for critical fire weather conditions. Subsequent forecasts and potential Red Flag Warnings should be monitored closely for any updates.
