SAN ANGELO, TX - Texas Gov. Greg Abbott visited San Angelo today, Feb. 9, to publicly endorse Stormy Bradley, a Republican candidate running against Rep. Drew Darby for the Texas House District 72 seat.
A large number of people packed into the Old Central Firehouse Pizzeria and Taproom, 200 S Magdalen St in downtown, at 10:30 a.m.
Protestors lined up outside to show support for Darby.
Once the rally began, Bradley gave an introduction before Abbott took over the mic.
“I need your help to get me to Austin so I can shut this border down,” Bradley said during her introduction. She said the reason she joined the race was because of the issue of the border. Bradley did not mention private school vouchers that are the cause of the AFC Victory Fund that is stuffing Republican voter mailboxes and jamming Republican cell phones with anti-Darby messages on behalf of Bradley.
Abbott said that he came to San Angelo for “A lot of different reasons.”
“One was to make perfectly clear to the people of San Angelo, as well as to the people across the entire state of Texas, that I am here to endorse and support Stormy Bradley,” Abbott said. “There is so many reasons to support her, one of which is that she is an entrepreneur.”
He continued to highlight that Bradley is part of the “Texas economic miracle.”
“Texas has the strongest economy in the United States of America,” he said. "I need Stormy Bradley. To make sure we keep the Texas economy number one.”
He also spoke about “No men in women's sports” and “Giant” property tax cuts, with the help of Bradley.
He then went into school choice, where Darby became the central focus of the speech.
“Your current house member, Drew Darby, was against giving parents the right to choose school choice for their child,” Abbott said. “Drew’s a nice guy, but the fact of the matter is, the nice guy you know here in San Angelo is a different person in Austin.”
Abbott then went over a list he had prepared on issues that Darby had voted in favor of.
He said that Darby voted against a “Republican priority on school choice.”
According to Abbott, Darby voted against “Expanding second amendment gun rights” and also voted in favor of “Expanding Obama Care.”
“He voted with Democrats, against Republicans, more than 600 times,” Abbott said.
He said that San Angelo deserves a state representative who will vote for Republican priorities.
“That is Stormy Bradley,” Abbott said.
Both Abbott and Bradley said that the number one issue in Texas is “Biden’s open-border policy.”

Comments
Darby: Good dude, intelligent, worthy of respect for his reasonable, well thought out views.
Abbott: Arrogant, self-serving, MAGA toady, disingenuous, deserving of being voted out.
