SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 1 Angelo State Rams Baseball team opens its 2024 season on the road on Friday, February 2, when the Rams travel to Portales, NM, to play the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds. Angelo State begins the 2024 season as the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, off the program’s first national title in 2023.
Angelo State won the Lone Star Conference title last season in the process of setting a new program record for wins in a season with 56 (56-9 overall). Here are the details of this weekend’s four-game series with the Grey Hounds.

The Rams lead the overall series 67-20 over ENMU. The last time these two teams squared off, Angelo State won 9-6 here in San Angelo. Angelo State currently rides a 20-game win streak over the Greyhounds. ASU swept ENMU last season with six total wins.
Eastern New Mexico came off one of the most successful years in program history last season. Despite finishing 23-28 overall, the Greyhounds won the most Conference games in program history with a 21-26 LSC record. The Greyhounda return infielder Demetrio Archuleta who led ENMU a season ago with a .371 batting average.
