Gas Leak Prompts Closure of Main Street Stretch

 

SAN ANGELO, TX - In the vicinity of 18th and Main St, a gas leak has prompted emergency response teams. 

A NIXEL alert was sent out at 4:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The alert stated that the gas leak led to the closure of 8th to 25th streets and eastward.

The leak, identified by a strong gas odor, poses potential risks to public safety. 

Atmos, the local gas utility company, has been notified and is actively responding to address the situation.

Emergency services are on the scene, working to secure the affected area and provide assistance to residents. The cause of the gas leak is under investigation.
