Looks like a few criminals took the holidays off last week, turning Sunday into the day of arrest with higher totals than the previous three days.
With a total of 26 arrests made by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and San Angelo Police Department on Sunday, theft was by far the most popular charge, booking eight individuals (one of which an employee) for various forms of theft or burglary to establishments, homes and autos on Dec. 1.
Driving-related arrests totaled five for the day, most of which were for Driving While License Invalid, but there were also an additional three Driving While Intoxicated charges on Sunday’s booking report.
Four people were arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and/or Possession of a Controlled Substance, and an additional four were arrested on Misdemeanor pot charges.
There was one Aggravated Assault Family Violence arrest, three Public Intoxications, and one Border Patrol Hold.
Our winner of the day, 32-year-old Aaron Lee Niles, was arrested for theft by check >$20 less than or equal to $500, Contempt of Court, Failure to Appear, two Violations of Probation for burglary of a coin operated machine and theft, and 24 counts of Capias Profine, or warrants for arrest for nonpayment of court-related costs. Way to go, Aaron.
The SAPD’s Daily Incident Report also shows four Missing Person Reports, one of which was a runaway that returned, six City Warrant Arrests, five County Warrant Arrests, and a State Felony Graffiti charge.
