Over 1000 Rainbow Trout Stocked in Favorite Fishin' Hole Wednesday

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries San Angelo District recently posted on its Facebook page that over 1,000 rainbow trout are now stocked in Foster Park.

“1000+ rainbow trout have been stocked at Foster Park,” the Inland Fisheries San Angelo District said. “There was a quarter inch of ice as of noon today, but it should be melting off as temps begin to warm up this afternoon.”

While the Concho Valley experienced extreme winter temperatures over the past several days, it is supposed to warm up into the 70s on Thursday before temperatures drop again this weekend. After the weekend, temperatures will rise into the high 50s and low 60s next week, so there will be plenty of good fishing weather to be had over the next two weeks.

It is important to remember that a fishing license is required for bodies of water owned by the county. Foster Park falls under that jurisdiction, so grab a fishing license before heading out to catch some rainbow trout. Fishing licenses can be purchased online HERE.
