San Angelo Part of Chicken Salad Chick's Aggressive Expansion into Texas

SAN ANGELO, TX — San Angelo is poised to join the ranks of Texas cities embracing Chicken Salad Chick, the nation's only fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept, as part of its aggressive expansion in the state. This move into San Angelo, along with Midland and Odessa, is highlighted in a three-unit franchise agreement inked in November.

The San Angelo expansion, driven by the mother-daughter duo Liz Sevcik and Alexis Thompson, is just one piece of a larger Texas expansion puzzle. Chicken Salad Chick's growth strategy in the state is marked by a series of significant franchise agreements, reflecting a diverse and ambitious growth plan:

11-Unit Agreement in Austin**: Led by Troy Morrison and Keaton Craig, this agreement aims to establish 11 new locations. Morrison, a seasoned multi-brand franchisee with Taco Bell and Wingstop in his portfolio, has also signed for six additional locations in Oklahoma City, OK. 5-Unit Agreement in East Texas**: Jack and Mona Gabriel, who started with Nothing Bundt Cakes, are expanding their Chicken Salad Chick presence. Following their first store's success in Tyler, Texas, they are set to open five more units in Longview, Greenville, and Tyler. 3-Unit Agreement in Central Texas**: Mark Blessing, a franchise veteran with Great Clips, is bringing three units to central Texas, targeting Stephenville, Granbury, and Abilene. 2-Unit Agreement in Lubbock**: Laura Garrison, following her Amarillo opening, has signed for two more stores in Lubbock with partner Moua Meng.

In addition to these agreements, the brand celebrated a grand opening in New Braunfels in early 2024. This new location, led by San Antonio franchisees James Oberg, Jeff Rochelle, and George Shaw, is part of an eight-location plan in San Antonio and surrounding areas.

Scott Deviney, CEO of Chicken Salad Chick, highlights the brand's increasing awareness and guest loyalty as key drivers for the demand in franchise opportunities.

"Our mission to become America’s favorite place for chicken salad is fueled by our commitment to spreading joy and enriching lives," said Deviney. "We are excited to support our franchise owners as they bring our purpose to life in communities across Texas, including San Angelo."

With the Midland, Odessa, and San Angelo franchise agreement inked in late 2023, and more expansions, including Lubbock, announced early in 2024, Chicken Salad Chick is set for a successful launch in west Texas. The brand's unique combination of home-style cooking, heartfelt service, and community-focused values make it a perfect fit for San Angelo's growing market.
