Accused Repeat Child Molester Bonds Out of Jail

Larry Paul Ramos has been indicted on four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and three counts of indecency with a child. After three months in jail, the 44-year-old posted almost $700,000 in combined bonds with Concho Bail Bonds on Thursday and was released at 5:06 p.m.

Ramos was jailed on April 9 on a single count of sexual assault of a child continuous, victim under 14. When his former stepdaughter read about the charge against him she came forward, telling her own story and alleging 11 years of sexual abuse. Ramos, who by then had bonded out of jail, was arrested again on April 23. A Tom Green County grand jury passed down the two indictments--one for each victim--with a total of seven counts of child crimes on July 9. As of yet, neither pretrial hearings or a jury trial date have been set on the court docket.

Ramos was one of 25 inmates released on Thursday. Another 25 were booked into the county correctional facility in the 24 hours between 7 a.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.

Police were dispatched to the convenience store at 1 N. Main St. just before midnight Thursday for the report of indecent exposure. Upon arrival, officers met with the female victim, who said that the suspect, Alfredo Pineda Barrera, had been trying to talk to her and began touching himself on the outside of his pants as he spoke. Pineda walked off down an aisle, the woman told police, but she sighted him again with his zipper down, exposing his genitals and fondling himself.

Pineda was taken into custody and issued a criminal trespass warning; he was booked into the county jail for indecent exposure. Per the warning, Pineda is never allowed to enter that location again and may be arrested if he does, regardless of whether he is found at the store or elsewhere after his trespass is reported.

Other jailings Thursday included three booked for DWI, one jailed for assault, one public intoxication, one charged with possession and one theft. Another man was jailed for arson.

I have to wonder if his next child victim will be a family member of the bondsman or his attorney. Just as I wonder if the policeman that stopped my daughters murderer and let him go worries about his family's safety. My daughter's murderer was on probation for a drive by shooting and had two pending assault with deadly weapons charges, yet was allowed to proceed with the premeditated murder of two 22 year old young people.
