Was This the Driver of the Itty-Bitty Red Toyota in Friday's Rollover?

SAN ANGELO, TX — The driver of the itty-bitty red Toyota who was arrested for reckless driving after rolling his car on Knickerbocker showed up in the jail records. The crash involving the red Toyota and a white Ford F-150 happened in the 4 p.m. hour yesterday and police told us they were booking the miraculously uninjured Toyota driver for reckless driving. Yet police said they also suspected he was high on narcotics.

Apparently evidence didn’t show the impairment; maybe he was just very angry, or a terrible, unsafe motorist instead. His bond was set at $500 and he paid it. He was booked into the jail at 5:19 p.m. yesterday and released early this morning at 7:28 a.m.

Reckless driving is punishable as a misdemeanor offense, which can result in a jail sentence of up to 30 days and/or a fine of not more than $200.

Additionally, an individual could face a license suspension if they are considered a habitual traffic violator under Texas law.

Ironically, the driver of the itty-bitty red Toyota paid more for his bond than the maximum fine for the offense. The name of the guy arrested is Michael Gatlin, 39.
