SAN ANGELO - Thousands of San Angolans filed outdoors Saturday just before noon to gaze skyward at the solar eclipse and wonder at the universe.
The crowds downtown taking in the car show at Bart Dewitt Park an at Paint Brush Alley stopped to stare through special sunglasses at the spectacle that peaked at 11:48 a.m. local time. All the picnic areas at the San Angelo State Park were reserved weeks in advance by out-of-towners seeking wide open skies to watch.
