Carpet Tech and COVER1: Player of the Week: Week Six

SAN ANGELO— The COVER1 and Carpet Tech Player of the Week for Week 6 plays right here in San Angelo and has the best record in the city.

The Player of the Week for Week 6 is none other than TLCA San Angelo Eagles’ quarterback Layne Honea. In his most recent game, Honea and the Eagle completely dismantled the Stanton Buffaloes 41-0. In the game, Honea went 18 of 29 for 339 yards, four touchdowns, and had a 62% completion percentage. His overall quarterback rating was 142.1.

This has earned him the COVER1 and Carpet Tech Player of the Week Award!

Honea has been on fire this season and over the five games he has played, Honea has completed 88 of 146 passing attempts for 1410 yards, 16 touchdowns to four interceptions. He has scrambled when needed and has 63 yards on the ground.

Next week, Honea and the Eagles start their district play when they travel to Bulldog Stadium in Brady, Texas to take on Sean Jacoby, Zeke Jones, Johnny Menefield, and DeMarcus Reed.
