San Angelo High School Marching Bands to Compete at Regional Championships

 

MIDLAND, TX — Two San Angelo High School Marching Bands will perform at the first Bands of America Regional Championship held in Midland on Saturday, September 30. Central High School’s Mighty Bobcat Band and the TLCA San Angelo Eagles Marching Band will be a part of the competition.

Marching bands from Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Oklahoma will all be represented at the 2023 Bands of America West Texas Regional Championships at Astound Broadband Stadium. The most notable names on the list are the entirety of the Little Southwest Conference (Central, Midland High, Midland Legacy, Frenship, Odessa Permian, and Odessa High).

Bands will take the field beginning at 8:30 a.m. Doors will open to the public at 8 a.m.

Twenty-two bands will compete in the premier marching band event that will feature live music, choreography, and competition. They will be evaluated by a panel of nationally recognized music educators and marching band experts. The top 12 scoring bands will advance to the evening finals, where one band will be crowned champion at the end of the night.

The Bands of America Championships season will conclude with the Bands of America Grand National Championships on November 9-11 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
