Jackknifed Trailer Blocks US 277 North

A freight truck carrying a huge metal I-beam was cited Tuesday morning for completely blocking 277 North.

As of 10:00 a.m. Sheriff's Deputies began detouring traffic around the obstruction. The freight truck apparently miscalculated the turn, and took out the stop sign at the corner while making its turn onto the highway. Scores of travelers were forced to creep past the obstruction on the shoulder of the road, as deputies waited for the arrival of a tow truck to assist in removing the mobile barricade.

By 11 a.m., Home Motors had arrived to assist in towing the freight truck off the roadway.

The driver was cited for blocking the highway.
