High School Student Arrested for Pot & Gun in Backpack

 

MIDLAND— A Midland High School student has been arrested for having a gun and drugs in his backpack at school.

According to reports, a teacher smelled marijuana in a Midland High School classroom and campus administrators were contacted. The Midland Independent School District police department was dispatched as well.

Administrators confronted the student and looked into the student’s backpack and found marijuana and a firearm. The student was then taken into custody.

The Midland Independent School District said:

We are grateful for the immediate action taken by the teacher, administrators, and campus police to ensure that this situation was handled quickly and safely.

All violations of the law or the Student Code of Conduct will be addressed immediately and students will be held responsible for their actions.
