Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs Past $1 Billion

SAN ANGELO, TX — It seems no one drew a winning number in the Mega Millions lottery drawing on Friday, July 29. Worth $940 million, that number continues to climb after no one won the jackpot. The winning numbers in Friday’s drawing were 5, 10, 28, 52, 63, and 18 for the mega ball. The multiplier on Friday was five.

The grand prize is now worth $1.05 billion. The next drawing to attempt to find a jackpot winner will be on Tuesday, August 1, at 10 p.m. CST. The number is likely to continue its rise as more and more people from around the country buy more tickets ahead of the drawing.

The $1.05 billion jackpot for Tuesday is now tied for the 7th largest U.S. lottery cash prize in history. It is also the 4th largest for the Mega Millions. Barely edging this jackpot out, the $1.08 billion Powerball jackpot recently found a winner earlier this month when it was sold in Los Angeles.

While no one has won the jackpot yet, several other tickets won money. Someone from Pennsylvania drew a Match 5 + Megaplier on Friday, winning $5 million. Other winners included the standard $1 million cash prize for Match 5 winners from Arizona, California, New York, and a second from Pennsylvania.
