Nascar Legend Jimmie Johnson's In-Laws Found Dead in Apparent Murder Suicide

MUSKOGEE, OK – The mother-in-law and father-in-law of seven time Nascar Cup Series Champion Jimmie Johnson were found dead in their Muskogee home Monday night from an apparent murder suicide.

According to the Muskogee Police Department, on June 26, 2023, MPD officers were dispatched to the 2800 block Suroya St. for the report of a disturbance. Once inside of the home, the officers found 69-year-old Jack Janway, 68-year-old Terry Janway and their 11-year-old Dalton Janway deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police claim they believe that Terry shot and killed Jack and Dalton before killing herself. Dalton was the nephew of Johnson.

Johnson was set to compete in Sunday’s Cup Series race in Chicago but has withdrawn from the event. Legacy Motor Club said the Johnson family “has asked for privacy at this time and no further statements will be made.”

Johnson is tied all time with most cup series wins. He holds the record with all time greats Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt.
