San Angelo ISD Introduces New Lake View Tennis Coach

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — On Friday, June 23, the San Angelo Independent School District announced that Lake View High School has hired a new head tennis coach. Coach John Loyd joins the Chiefs’ family as their new Head Tennis Coach. In a statement posted on their website, SAISD welcomed Loyd to Lake View High School and the San Angelo community.

“We are excited to welcome John Loyd to San Angelo ISD and Lake View High School and look forward to seeing the great things that he is going to do with the tennis program,” said Rodney Chant, SAISD Executive Director of Athletics.

Lake View’s new coach brings more than 20 years of coaching experience to San Angelo. Most recently, he served as a head tennis coach for both middle and high school at Aransas County ISD.

Coach Loyd comes to SAISD with more than 20 years of experience coaching tennis. He most recently served as head tennis coach for both middle and high school at Aransas County ISD. Teams under Loyd’s direction have had success in the past. Such accolades include numerous district, regional, and state tournament appearances. In addition, his teams won several district championships. Finally, Coach Loyd was also nominated for Middle School Tennis Coach of the Year for Texas and Coach of the Year District 31-4A. He received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Angelo State University and also holds a United States Professional Tennis Association Certification.
