HOLLYWOOD— A red band trailer for Sony’s next “Spider-Man” villain feature “Kraven the Hunter” has dropped online.
Ever since Venom, Sony has been trying to make the “villain-verse” a thing. Venom, starring Tom Hardy released and it spawned a sequel featuring Woody Harrelson as Carnage in Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Jared Leto signed on and Sony released Morbius, which follows Leto’s Michael Morbius as he becomes the Living Vampire. Keep in mind, all these are Spider-Man villains.
Now, Kraven the Hunter has dropped its trailer. Use caution as this is a graphic "red band" trailer for the movie.
The official synopsis hasn’t been released as of yet but there are several other comic characters featured here.
First things first, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who was recently in Bullet Train, is playing Sergei Kravinoff, or Kraven the Hunter. Christopher Abbott (Whiskey Tango Foxtrot) has been cast as The Foreigner, the film’s main villain.
Russell Crowe (The Nice Guys, Gladiator) plays Kraven’s father and Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) plays Calypso, who is Kraven’s lost interest. Fred Hechinger (News of the World, The Pale Blue Eye) has been cast as Dmitri Smerdyakov/Chameleon.
Alessandro Nivola (The Many Saints of Newark) will play Rhino.
Kraven the Hunter is directed by J.C. Chandor, who also directed A Most Violent Year and Triple Frontier.
Kraven the Hunter is set to hit theaters October 6, 2023.
