Heat Advisory Friday Afternoon with Hotter Temps Next Week

SAN ANGELO – A Heat Advisory is again in effect for the Concho Valley from Friday through Sunday evening afternoon as temperatures are expected to hit 107 degrees.

Experts with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo say the Advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and higher temperatures next week will necessitate Excessive Heat Warnings beginning Monday.

Residents are advised to stay inside an air-conditioned room if at all possible.  All outdoor activity is discouraged in the afternoon hours.  If you must be outdoors, take extra precautions, drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids, wear a hat, gloves and loose fitting clothing.  Check on vulnerable friends and relatives.  And make sure all outdoor pets have plenty of shade, fresh water and food.

Never leave a pet or a child in a locked vehicle under any circumstances.  That's a crime.

This heat wave will continue for at least the next two weeks.  Plan accordingly.

This is a serious and developing weather situation.
