Jury Selection Begins in Brady Street Fight Murder Trial

 

BRADY, TX – The murder trial in the death of a Brady man in Aug. 2021 got underway Monday in Brady with jury selection.

According to court documents, on Monday, June 12, 2023, McCullough County prosecutors and the defense attorney for Michael Tarr, 42, of Brady, began selecting the jury panel for the trial.

Once the selection process is complete, Tarr will be formally arraigned and enter his plea. Normally once the jury is selected the defendant will enter a not guilty plea. However he still has the option to plea no contest or guilty.

Tarr is accused of killing Jason Allan Cumbie in Aug. 2021. At the time of the murder, police found Cumbie deceased in the street with an apparent gunshot wound. Tarr was scene in his mugshot with obvious bruises and swelling to the head. For more on the original story click here.

If convicted of murder, Tarr could be sentenced to life in prison.
