SAN ANGELO— A violent San Angelo man has been arrested after finding his ex-girlfriend and assaulting her and another individual.
Christopher Jones, 41, has been arrested for two counts of assault causing bodily injury, criminal mischief, and publish or threaten to publish intimate materials. According to court documents, San Angelo police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Veck Street in San Angelo regarding an unknown problem on June 1, 2023.
Once on scene, officer located two individuals who were observed to have fresh injuries. Both victims stated they had been assaulted and suffered property damage by the defendant, Jones, who had fled.
An investigator interviewed both the male and female victim. The male victim is in a dating relationship with the female victim. Jones was in a dating relationship with the female victim that had ended.
The male victim stated that he and the female victim were together inside a van when they were discovered by Jones who shined a light into the vehicle. After Jones found the two individuals, he began to break out the windows of the van. The male victim saw Jones grab the female victim and make several attempts to pull her from the vehicle.
The male victim then stated that a brake rotor had been used to smash the windows of the van and Jones allegedly threw the vehicle part at him. After this, the male victim exited the van and attempted to get Jones away from the female victim. It was then that the male victim was struck in a physical altercation with Jones. Jones was struck several times by the male victim who did not leave until it was said the police were called.
The female victim was interviewed by investigators who stated Jones tried to remove her from the van by pulling her neck and hair. The woman also had multiple cuts, lacerations, and abrasions from the attempt to pull her through the shattered vehicle’s window.
Investigators reviewed one of the officer’s reports that stated Jones was observed walking in the roadway near the scene. He allegedly confirmed his presence at the scene and his injuries were consistent with what the two victims had reported. These injuries were also documented as fresh with served as an additional indication that Jones participated in the assault.
Jones was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily injury, assault causes bodily injury family violence, criminal mischief, and publish or threaten to publish intimate materials. He was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on June 1, 2023 and is currently and inmate being held on $42,000 bond.
