WALL, TX — The Wall Lady Hawks Volleyball team is in need of a new head coach. As we previously reported on Friday, TLCA’s Head Football coach Matt Jones left his post to take a job at Water Valley. It seems his wife, Lady Hawks Head Volleyball Coach Robynn Jones, will be joining her husband in Water Valley.
Robynn Jones leaves Wall after an amazing season in 2022. She led the Lady Hawks to a 37-7 (8-0) overall record and a district championship. After claiming the 1-seed out of the district and into the playoffs, the Lady Hawks claimed a Bi-district, Area, and Regional semi-final titles before falling in the Regional Finals to Bushland.
Jones previously coached at Bronte High School from 2012-2016. Wall hired Jones in 2016 after the departure of previous head coach Ashley Gould. Wall made the postseason in each of her six years at the helm, with the Lady Hawks’ best season happening last year.
Coach Jones joins her husband, Matt Jones, at Water Valley High School. Matt Jones took the defensive coordinator position, while Robynn Jones will be one of the Wildcats’ Volleyball coaches.
Wall Athletic Director, Jeremy Williams, says that Wall is already in the process of replacing Jones. Williams said that the Lady Hawks hope to promote assistant coach Taylor Howie to skipper, but nothing official has been announced.
