Are These Famous Native Texan Actors Actually Brothers?

SAN ANGELO— Are Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey biological brothers?

While promoting their new Apple TV+ series, the Dallas Buyers Club star revealed that he and Woody Harrelson might be blood brothers. While the two actors have been close for some time, McConaughey said that there is a chance Harrelson is actually his biological brother.

On the podcast “Let’s Talk of Camera”, McConaughey said that his mother knew Harrelson’s father and that they were possibly intimate at one time.

“In Green a few years ago,” McConaughey said, “We’re sitting around talking about how close we are, and our families and my mom is there, and she says ‘Woody, I knew your dad.’ Everyone was aware of the ellipses that my mom left after ‘knew”’.

After some research, McConaughey found out that Harrelson’s father, who was a hit man, was out on furlough when McConaughey’s parents were going through their second divorce and there are possible places in West Texas where these “meetings” could have taken place.

While all this sounds outlandish, it probably is and is just McConaughey drumming up publicity for their Apple TV+ comedy series “Brother From Another Mother”, which will see both Texas native actors playing fictionized versions of themselves and will draw inspiration from their real friendship.

Still, McConaughey and Harrelson have been good friends for some time and have played together in several projects over the years.

“Brother From Another Mother” will be a 10-episode series from David Read, known for “Schitt’s Creek” and is a “heartfelt odd couple love story revolving around the strange and beautiful bond between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
