BALTIMORE, MD — NFL Wide Receiver and top-end free agent Odell Beckham Jr. signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, April 10. After an entire season of speculation, while Beckham Jr. recovered from an injury, Odell finally has a new place to call home.
The Ravens signed Beckham Jr. to a 1-year deal worth up to $18 million, with $15 million guaranteed. After the announcement, Beckham Jr., 30, took to Instagram to share photos of his son wearing a Ravens jersey and hat.
The former Ram, Brown, and Giant spent all of last year on the sidelines recovering from an ACL tear he received in Super Bowl LVI while playing with Matt Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. In his career, Odell played in 96 games, has 531 receptions for 7,367 yards, and 56 touchdowns.
The Ravens most likely hope that Beckham Jr can cobble and rehabilitate an anemic receiver room that struggled over the past few seasons. Signing Odell also was a step in the right direction for the Ravens, keeping their extremely disgruntled All-Pro quarterback, Lamar Jackson. Jackson requested a trade back in March after he felt that the Ravens did not offer him a satisfactory contract extension during contract negotiations.
The Baltimore Ravens finished second in the AFC North in 2022. They finished the season with a 10-7 overall record and a playoff berth. Lamar Jackson missed significant time in the back half of the season and did not play in the Wild Card Round that the Ravens lost to the rival Cincinnati Bengals 24-17
