BREAKING: City of San Angelo Opens Warming Shelter & Needs Volunteers

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The City of San Angelo on Tuesday has opened up its warming shelter for the next few days for people needing to get out of the freezing weather.

The following message was sent out by the City of San Angelo:

The City of San Angelo will be opening a warming shelter from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. each night beginning Tuesday, Jan. 24, through Thursday, Jan. 26, at Carl Ray Johnson Recreation Center, 1103 Farr St.

Volunteers are needed to help run the warming shelter; sign up at bit.ly/citywarmingshelter. The American Red Cross will provide cots.

Animals are permitted but must not aggressive or disruptive.

The city's warming shelter is open any time the temperature drops below freezing. Anyone is welcome to use the shelter.
