HOUSTON, TX — Houston superfan Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale, known for his outrageous promotions at his business and monstrous bets placed on the Houston Astros, put his money down on another Texas team.
According to VSIN’s Ben Fawkes, “It just wouldn’t be a big sporting event without a Mattress Mack Wager.”
“He has wagered $1.5 million on TCU money line +370 in the College Football Playoff final at Draft Kings Sportsbook in Louisiana,” he said. “Bet would win $5.55 million.”
McIngvale made history when the Houston Astros won the 2022 World Series. Mattress Mack made several bets for the Astros to win it all, totaling a whopping 10 million dollars.
After the Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in Game 6 in 2022 to win the franchise's 2nd Championship, Mattress Mack's winnings totaled 75 million dollars. McIngvale set a record for the largest legal sports betting payout ever in the U.S. with the win.
Georgia enters the national title game as the heavy favorite, with no one giving the Horned Frogs any real chance at victory. If TCU pulls off the upset, it will shock the College Football world, and Mattress Mack will win again.
