BREAKING: Buffalo Bills Release an Update on Safety Damar Hamlin's Condition

BUFFALO, NY — The Buffalo Bills posted an update on twitter about hospitalized Safety Damar Hamlin. Hamlin collapsed during the first quarter of the Monday Night Football matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals.

“Per the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours. While still critically ill, he has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically intact. His lungs continue to heal, and he is making steady progress," the Bills said.

Medical personnel had to administer CPR and Hamlin had to receive oxygen on the field before transporting the safety to the hospital. Hamlin’s father, Mario Hamlin, addressed the Bills’ players via zoom call on Wednesday to update the team on his son’s condition. ESPN reported that the team “really needed it.”

The Bills return to full practice on Thursday for the first time since Monday night. The team conducted meetings and a walkthrough at their facility on Wednesday.

The NFL suspended the game between the Bills and the Bengals with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter and the Bengals leading 7-3. The NFL also stated that the Week 17 matchup would not resume this week and, as of now, has not been rescheduled.
