Jail bookings were moderate on Memorial Day this year, but despite only 23 bookings as compared to recent numbers in the 30s, a significant spike in complaints was seen, or offenses alleged to have been committed that day. Only five individuals were booked on warrants only, whereas most days warrant arrest comprise 50-75 percent of jail bookings, if not more.
Of those jailed for freshly committed offenses, five were charged with marijuana possession, four were charged with assault, three were charged with public intoxication and two each were charged with theft and DWI. One person apiece was also jailed for minor in consumption, possession and evading arrest.
Twenty-three individuals were released on Monday.
