SAN ANGELO – Police Reports indicate an alleged toxic girlfriend was arrested on Thursday morning after she tried to cut her boyfriend's throat with a box cutter.
According to court documents, on Sep. 28, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of S. Monroe st. for the report of a domestic disturbance.
Once officers arrived, they found a boyfriend and a girlfriend who had been in an argument. During witness statements, the officers were able to determine that the couple had been arguing in bed. The girlfriend told her man to get out of the bed.
The affidavit states that the girl began striking her boyfriend. These punches left visible injuries to the man. The argument moved out of the bedroom and into the living room. It continued to escalate until the argument reached its boiling point.
"The defendant armed herself with a box cutter, pointed it at the victim from three to five feet away, and threatened to cut the victim's throat," states the affidavit written by an SAPD detective.
The boyfriend was able to get away from the woman before anything occurred. He did however feel like his life was in danger.
At the conclusion of the investigation, SAPD officers arrested Raquel Yocom, 38, of San Angelo, and charged her with aggravated assault against a family member with a deadly weapon. She was booked into the jail one Sep. 29 at 12:30 a.m. Her bond was set at $50,000 and she was released the same day. A stipulation with the bond is that she can have no contact with the victim.
