SAN ANGELO- A violent, crowbar wielding suspect has been arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after beating a San Angelo man with a crowbar during a Northside altercation.
According to police reportss, San Angelo Police were dispatched to the 700 block of East 45th St. regarding an assault investigation. Investigators learned from an officer’s report and body camera footage that a resident was awakened by his son who told him a suspected burglar was banging on the front door and trying to the break windows.
Investigators learned from the man that he went outside and observed a male suspect getting into a dark colored Chevrolet pickup truck. The resident attempted to stop the suspect in the truck and was allegedly struck several times in the head violently with a crowbar. The male suspect fled prior to the police arriving.
The victim was treated for his wounds and had received 8 staples in his head and he also had two lacerations near his left eyebrow. The victim identified the violent suspect as David Flores. The San Angelo police presented the victim with a photographic line-up in which he positively identified Flores as the man who damaged his property and hit him in the head with a crowbar.
Investigators spoke with a witness who observed Flores strike the victim with a crowbar at least three times.
David Flores was arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on August 16, 2022, and was released on August 17 after posting bond.
