DALLAS – The Dallas Cowboys announced Thursday that the team has added an MVP and former TCU standout to their roster.
Training camp just opened for the Dallas Cowboys and they’ve added the reigning USFL MVP to their roster.
Returner and wide receiver KeVontae Turpin, 25, has officially signed with the Cowboys. Turpin is the most recent MVP for the USFL. He led the league in yards and yards after the catch with 540 and 316 respectively.
On special teams, Turpin led the league in punt return average, 15.3, and was the only player to take a kickoff back to the house.
Turpin is a local product for the Cowboys as he played college football at TCU. He went undrafted in the NFL Draft in 2019.
During the inaugural USFL season, the New Jersey Generals drafted Turpin in the 13th round. He had 44 receptions, 921 total yards, and 6 total touchdowns.
Turpin is joining a receiver room led by Ceedee Lamb, Michael Gallup, James Washington, and rookie Jalen Tolbert.
