Heartbreaking: San Angelo Animal Shelter Needs Foster Homes for 4 Dogs or They Could Be Euthanized

SAN ANGELO – The City of San Angelo is reporting that as of today,  July 12, 2022, the San Angelo Animal Services is experiencing a space crisis, with 288 dogs on the premises.

"Although we're back at "critical: dangerously full" category, Independence Day intake was manageable with 30 fewer animals taken in than the same period last year.

Your “Keep Them Home” efforts worked over the holiday week! By securing dogs before July 4th festivities and holding found pets in their local neighborhoods for a few hours, even more animals stayed home or returned to their owners quickly.

Your help is still needed to avoid unnecessary euthanasia.

Head to cvpaws.org/foster to consider housing a pet short term. If only four dogs of any breed, size or age were fostered today, our shelter capacity would downgrade to “high.” Together, we can get through this space crisis and save even more worthy pets."
