Abilene High School Eagle Alum Signs with NFL Team

ABILENE, TX – An Abilene High School football player who entered the NFL Draft could wear a Saints jersey this upcoming season.

Baylor running back Abram Smith agreed to sign with the New Orleans Saints after not being picked in the 2022 NFL Draft. Smith declared for the NFL Draft in January.

Smith played high school football at Abilene High School and graduated early to play for the Baylor Bears. He played linebacker and in his last season moved back to running back and broke the Baylor school record with 1,621 rushing yards and had 9 games with at least 100 yards rushing.

Smith was projected to go in the 5th round but never heard his name called.
