WATCH: Buffalo Soldier Memorial Project Underway in San Angelo

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People announced on Wednesday the location for the future memorial commemorating San Angelo's buffalo soldiers.

The fundraising for the project has begun and the NAACP is planning on raising $300,000. 

President of the NAACP, Shirley Spears detailed the project. Watch her speech below:

The memorial will be constructed across the street from Fort Concho at the El Paseo de San Angela. The City of San Angelo approved the location of the site during the previous city council meeting.
