ODESS, TX – The Odessa High School choir will be opening for legendary rock band this Wednesday at the Wagner Noel Performing Arts Center.
The Odessa High School choir team will be the opening act for rock band Foreigner on Wednesday April 20, 2022.
Head Choir Director at Odessa High School, Ginger Storey said, “They told us that we can open for them and sing our own music. I though we can do that, so they called, and he and I got it worked and it was great.”
While the choir has been a part of the Foreigner’s show in the past, this is the first time they will be opening for the 70’s rock band. Students on the choir team have been preparing over the past weeks.
“I just try to be the biggest leader I can be and try to be supportive. Try to bring people up when they are feeling nervous, you can’t prepare yourself going on stage singing in front of people, you never can it’s just something you have to learn.” Aiden Dickson, a senior at Odessa High said, “I’ve done this for a while, so I’m used to it. You just have to support people and bring them up.”
Foreigner formed in 1976 and released their debut album in 1977 and are popular for hits such as “Urgent”, “Cold as Ice”, and Feels Like the First Time.”
There are still tickets to the Foreigner show and you can buy them HERE.
You can see the Odessa High School Choir at the Odessa Performance Art Center at 7:30 p.m. on May 6thand 7th.

FOREIGNER? Damn. When I'm listening to some of their stuff I crank the bass so high the subwoofer in the back of my Lexus makes the back glass visibly vibrate. Lou Gramm in "Midnight Blue"... makes me feel young again. Great stuff.
