Wall 4th of July Parade Postponed to July 5

WALL, TX — Chelsea Strube, organizer of the annual Wall, America 4th of July Parade, announced that the event has been postponed to Saturday, July 5. The delay comes as the Wall Volunteer Fire Department, which traditionally leads the parade, remains occupied with rescue operations due to widespread flooding.

Torrential rains overnight dumped more than 14 inches of water in some areas. When the Wall VFD isn’t rescuing residents in Wall, they’re responding to emergencies in other parts of the county.

The Wall 4th of July Parade is known for its slogan, “Where America’s 4th of July Begins.” With the weather delay, Strube quipped, “This year, we’ll be where America’s 4th of July ends.”

Spectators can watch the parade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, along Loop 570 near Wall Elementary School. Following the parade, a benefit lunch will be served at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, located at 8702 Loop 570.
