PLAINVIEW, TX – Two Plainview men have been arrested after they were painting stolen vehicles in an alleyway with a paint roller.
Plainview police responded to the alleyway of the 300 block of Southeast 6th Street for a report of an individual painting a vehicle with a paint roller. When officers arrived, 26-year-old Austin Cansino was found to be telling another individual to paint the vehicle. This unnamed individual was not arrested but Cansino was.
This investigation led law enforcement to the 800 block of West 27th Street. There, police found a second stolen vehicle, a trailer, a welder, and a stolen gun. At this location, Mark Flores, 33, was located hiding under a bed. Flores had a felony warrant for his arrest.
Austin Cansino was charged with possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle while Mark Flores was charged with theft of a firearm, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon, and with a parole violation.
Both were booked into the Hale County Jail and some of the stolen property has been returned.

Long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away...
I was working as a grunt in a warehouse in Houston for a buck eighty an hour. Some of the "gentlemen" with whom I worked had questionable ideas regarding their behavior and accordance with the law. Anyway...
A guy I worked with drove a pickup (they were not called "trucks" back in those days) that clearly had been painted with a brush. Several of us fellow grunts asked him why this beast had been painted with a brush, since el cheapo spray paint jobs were not that expensive even in those days. He never could give us a satisfactory answer.
A vehicle clearly not spray painted has simply got to raise the question, "What's wrong with this picture?" These clowns appear to be idiots, unless they have really vivid imaginations and the ability to convince others of horsepoop.
In my seventy-five years on the planet I have seen only the one vehicle that raised alarm flags of this nature.
