Abilene Man Struck & Killed by Train Thursday

 

ABILENE, TX – A 35-year-old Abilene man died on Thursday night after being struck by a train in Abilene.

According to the Abilene Police Department, on Mar. 10 at around 7 p.m., officers with the Abilene Police Department were dispatched to the train tracks near E. Highway 80 and the Judge Ely underpass for the report of a crash.

When they arrived, they discovered a train that had crashed into a pedestrian. The man, 35-year-old Curtis Lee Proctor, of Abilene, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The initial investigation determined that Proctor was on the tracks when he was struck and killed by the train. The APD has opened up a death investigation on the incident.
