SAN ANGELO, TX – It's official, San Angelo will be getting a Chipotle Mexican Grill.
According to the City of San Angelo's Building Permit and Inspection's Report Published in Jan. 2022, Chipotle Mexican Grill has submitted a permit to build a $300,000 building on the 3500 block of S. Jackson St. next to Cane's Chicken.
In Oct. a spokesperson for Chipotle confirmed that the restaurant was coming to San Angelo but did not disclose the location at the time.
“We are currently scheduled to open a location in San Angelo at some point in the summer of 2022," stated Tyler Benson, Manager of External Communication for Chipotle Mexican Grill.
Now the restaurant will join Raising Canes, Chic-fil-a, Rosa's, Texas Burger, and Taco Bell on the busy intersection near the Angelo State Campus.
Chipotle is a Mexican grill that offers a variety of burritos, burrito bowls, salads and more. All of their items are made to order right in front of you. San Angelo previously had a similar type restaurant, Freebirds, which was located on the corner of W. Avenue N and Sherwood Way.
It is unknown when construction will begin.
