HOUSTON, TX- The Houston Texans have fired David Culley after one season as head coach.
The Texans went 4-13 in Culley’s lone season as he and General Manager Nick Caserio overhauled the team with veterans and short contracts.
With Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson’s sexual assault lawsuits hanging over it, Culley’s season was marred in drama. Not only that but Bill O’Brien, who was the Texans head coach for 6 seasons before Culley, traded the team’s 1st and 2nd round picks to Miami for left tackle Laremy Tunsil.
O’Brien trade not only draft capitol, he also traded one of the best receivers currently in the game to Arizona for running back David Johnson, a 2nd round pick, and swapped 4th round picks effectively gutting the team.
Now the Texans are hunting for their 3rd head coach in as many years.
