SAN ANGELO, TX –– Coronavirus cases are surging all across the state –– prompting school districts around San Angelo to cancel or postpone classes for a few days.
The following school districts have announced changes to their normal schedule in response to Covid-19:
Crockett County CCSD
"The Crockett County CCSD announces, due to staffing shortage, we will be releasing our students at noon, Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Classes will resume on Monday, January 17,2022 at regular schedule times."
Reagan County ISD
With the rise in COVID cases, we have decided to close campuses for the remainder of this week. No Remote Learning will occur for students. Classes will resume on Monday. If you have any questions please contact central office.
Santa Anna ISD
"Santa Anna ISD is currently experiencing a high number of staff members that are out sick with Covid-19, flu, and other illnesses. We have reached our limit on staff absences and one more employee missing due to illness would lead to a class of students being without an adult to supervise. Based on this scenario, Santa Anna ISD will be canceling school for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. We will resume instruction on Tuesday, January 18th."
Schleicher County ISD
"Due to a rapid increase in Covid-19 cases, SCISD campuses will be closed Wednesday –– Friday (1/12-1/14). School will resume on a normal schedule, Monday, January 17th. The health and safety of students and staff is the highest concern. Please monitor for symptoms and communicate with your campus office Monday with any questions or information."
Cisco ISD
"Cisco ISD will be closed on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, and Thursday, January 13, 2022, due to the high number of absences from students and staff. On Tuesday, over 130 students were absent...approximately 41 have tested with COVID. Cisco ISD was d to be closed on Friday, January 14, and Monday, January 17. Our priority is the health and safety of our community, students, and staff, and during the closure, CISD maintenance will thoroughly clean all facilities. Please take the necessary steps to keep yourself and your family healthy."
