Mother of Two Top College Football Players Found Dead in West Texas

 

ABILENE, TX – The mother of two standout West Texas football players, Jordan and Jaxson Shipley, was found dead on Monday in Kirby Lake West.

According to the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, on Jan. 10, Sharon Shipley, 55, voluntarily checked herself out of a treatment center in Abilene. By 3 p.m. Sharon was reported missing.

After hours of searching, Texas Parks and Wildlife workers found her body in Kirby Lake West. It is unknown at this time the cause of death.

The body has been sent for an autopsy.

Jordan Shipley played for the Texas Longhorns from 2006-2009. He finished his career with 3,191 yards and 33 touchdowns on 248 catches. Jaxon Shipley also played for Texas from 2011-2014. During his career their he had 218 receptions for 2,510 yards and 19 touchdowns.
