UPDATE: New Law Lands Man Behind Bars for Possessing "Child-Like" Sex Doll

SAN ANGELO, TX— A San Angelo man has been arrested for possessing a child-size sex doll.

Joshua Alan Clark, 31, was arrested Tuesday by the San Angelo Police Department and charged with Possession of a Child-Like Sex Doll.

UPDATE: As of September 1, 2025, it is illegal to possess or promote a “child-like” sex doll. The law has three prohibited acts:

1. Promoting a child-like sex doll
2. Possessing a child-like sex doll with intent to promote
3. Possessing a child-like sex doll

The punishment ranges from a state jail felony that carries a possible sentence of 180 days in jail and/or a fine up to $10,000 to a second-degree felony that carries a possible sentence of 2 to 20 years in jail and a optional fine of up to $10,000.

Under the Texas law, a “child-like” sex doll is defined as an obscene and anatomically correct doll, mannequin, or robot, has child-like features, and is intended to be used for sexual stimulation or gratification.

Promoting a child-like sex doll includes making, issuing, selling, providing, delivering, or advertising the doll.

According to court documents, on Nov. 25, 2025, an investigator contacted the pest control employee who was spraying the Cliff House Apartment Complex. While spraying for pests in an apartment, the employee went into the bedroom when she noticed the closet door open. The woman thought a child was inside the closet.

She asked the maintenance man to come into the bedroom and turn on the light in the closet. Both the maintenance man and the employee realized that it was a female child-like sex doll. The doll was not clothed, had peach-colored skin, brown hair, and appeared to look like a 4-year-old.

The maintenance man told investigators that when he went into the bedroom closet, he thought a child was asleep on the floor. When he noticed it was a sex doll, he kicked it with his foot, and it felt like jelly.

Both the pest employee and the maintenance man said the child sex doll was anatomically correct.

That same day, the investigator spoke with the manager of Cliff House Apartment who confirmed that Joshua Alan Clark was the sole occupant of the apartment.

A search warrant was executed on Clark’s apartment, and the sex doll was seized.

Clark was arrested on Nov. 25, 2025, on a charge of possession of a child-like sex doll and booked into the Tom Green County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
