Local Democrat Party Hosting Non-partisan City Council Candidate Forum Tonight

SAN ANGELO, TX – Candidates running for the open seat on the San Angelo City Council will all be on stage Monday evening during the Single Member District 5 candidate forum sponsored by the San Angelo Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

As previously reported, on Nov. 16, former city councilman, Lane Carter, announced that he would step down as councilman to run for Tom Green County Judge.

This opened the door for a number of candidates to throw their hat in the ring.

In the race there will be four different candidates running. They will appear on the ballot in the following order: Karen Hesse Smith, John Austin Stokes, Lynette Lucas, and Dr. Bryan Neil Angle.

All four of the candidates will be in attendance tonight at the forum at the San Angelo Fine Arts Museum.

The event kicks off at 6 p.m. and is open to the public.
