SAN ANGELO – The President of Angelo State University has issued a statement regarding the death of senior instructor Natalie Ryan-Fraser.
Dr. Ronnie Hawkins, Angelo State University's President, said in a campus wide email Friday evening:
“Dear Ram Family,
It is with a heavy heart that I notify our campus community of the loss of one of our long-term faculty members, Natalie Ryan. Natalie was a senior instructor in the Department of English and Modern Languages, and made an impact on the lives of countless students.
On behalf of ASU leadership, we extend our deepest sympathy and support to her family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time. Natalie made a difference in the lives of many and will be missed.

As we reported earlier, Natalie Ryan-Fraser was allegedly shot and killed by her husband, Wayne Fraser, in Caledonia, Mississippi on Thursday. While early into the investigation, detectives say Wayne killed his wife and found a 9mm handgun at the scene.
Wayne Fraser was arrested at the scene and was booked into the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
