Wanted Homicide Fugitive Arrested In Abilene

 

SWEETWATER, TX –– A wanted fugitive accused of criminally negligent homicide has been apprehended in Abilene.

Five days ago, the Sweetwater Police Department issued a wanted notice for Michael Franks for the homicide. 

Back in May, Franks was arrested in connection to the death of Betty Thompson. The 30-year-old woman was found deceased inside her home.

A second suspect was also arrested in connection to the case –– Brenda Gamble a.ka. Brett Oliver Gamble. 

Franks was also wanted by the Board of Pardons and Parole for possession of methamphetamine. At the time authorities believed he could be in Abilene or Dallas area.

On Wednesday, Sweetwater PD confirmed Franks had been apprehended by the Abilene Police Department.
