Christmas At Old Fort Concho Returns This Weekend

SAN ANGELO, TX –– The holiday season is in full swing and Christmas at Old Fort Concho is back this weekend to kick off festivities in the Concho Valley.

The historic event will return after a brief hiatus as a result of the pandemic. Starting on Friday, December 3rd families can stop by the fort for a plethora of Christmas fun –– including a Gingerbread House and Decorated Cookies contest.

The three-day event officially kicks off at 3:00 p.m. on Friday with the Winter Rendezvous. Visitors will be able to check out the merchants and buildings and participate in a historical walking tour, the Winter Rendezvous Retreat ceremony, and visit Santa from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, the day starts at 7:30 a.m. with the traditional Lions Pancakes with Santa. Part of the day's events includes the Gunfight in Old Santa Angela, the Fort Concho Base Ball Game, and A Musical Night in Another Century.

The last day will kick off at 9:00 a.m. with the Cowboy Chuck Wagon Breakfast. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet Santa, check out the historic buildings, and enjoy a winter wonderland on forty acres.

All three days will also feature the  Winter Rendezvous, campsites with hundreds of re-enactors and period traders who bring the 1800s to life.

Troops will also conduct drills, rides, and weapons demonstrations along the parade grounds.

Daily admission for children under the age is free, children 7 to 17 are $3, adults are $7, and seniors and military members are $5. Weekend passes will also be available for sale.
